67's win 4th straight, 4-1 vs Storm

Less than 24 hours after their win against the Sarnia Sting, the Ottawa 67’s defeated the struggling Guelph Storm by the same 4-1 score on Saturday afternoon. The win is their 4th straight and 8th in 11 games. Good enough to leap frog them over Barrie and Kingston for first in the Eastern Conference.

Lazarev with 27 saves in 67's 4-1 win over Sting

After spending the last two weeks on the road, the Ottawa 67’s returned home to face the Sarnia Sting. Obtaining 8 of a possible 10 points on the road, the 67’s found themselves just 1-point back of the Kingston Frontenacs for first in the East Division.

Travis Konecny had a goal and an assist while Jeremiah Addison added two helpers to lead the 67’s to a 4-1 victory over the Sting in front of a home crowd of 5,304 boisterous fans. With Kingston winning tonight, the 67’s remain 1 point back of first in the division, but with Barrie losing tonight, they are also 1 point back of first in the conference.

Frustrated Frontenacs drop divisional meeting with Ottawa

The 67's carried the pace, albeit a very choppy one, for the better part of the last 40 minutes to take a 6-2 decision Wednesday night in Kingston, pulling within one point of the division-leading Frontenacs.

67's head home with split after win over Generals

After a shaky showing by 67’s goaltenders on Saturday in Hamilton, Leo Lazarev emerged as a key player in Ottawa’s 6-2 victory against the Oshawa Generals on Sunday evening.

Lazarev stopped 32 of 34 shots, while the Generals’ Jeremy Brodeur allowed four goals on just 18 shots in the first two periods.

He would later be replaced by Logan Gauthier to start the final period. Only Dante Salituro’s second goal managed to make it past Gauthier 5:33 into the third, but it was too little too late for the Generals, who couldn’t bounce back from the 67’s then-5-1 lead.

Salituro completed his hat trick with an empty-net goal with just over two minutes left to play in the game.

The three goals and his assist on Jeremiah Addison’s second-period powerplay goal earned Salituro first star of the game.

Travis Konecny’s five points, including an assist on each of Salituro’s goals, earned him second star.

The 67’s, coming off a difficult loss Saturday in Hamilton, wasted no time as Trent Mallette opened scoring just 11 seconds into the game. They kept control for the next 59 minutes.

The closest the Generals came to tying was 6:30 into the second period when Matt Mistele put Oshawa on the board, making it 2-1 67’s.

But Ottawa quickly bounced back from the goal as Addison and Nathan Todd both scored unanswered goals before the end of the middle frame.

The Generals had brief hope less than 5 minutes into the third when Owen McDade managed to put the puck past Lazarev, but Salituro’s two third-period goals quickly erased any chance at a comeback for the Generals.

Ottawa currently sits in third in the OHL’s Eastern conference, with 27 points.

The 67’s will try to improve their 13-9-1 record on Wednesday night with a game against the Frontenacs in Kingston. Puck drops at 7pm.

The 67’s next home game will be Friday, November 27 against the Sarnia Sting.

Ottawa's offence in the Steel City dissolves

Technology halted the start of a game that the 67's wanted a flying start to, goal reviews gave them a fighting chance in a game they had no business being in, and ultimately a mix of the two swapped momentum against them in the third period, the only real chance they had to get back into Saturday's game in Hamilton.

Brown squashes trade rumours as 67's fall 6-3 to the Petes

Before the game, Ottawa 67’s general manager and head coach, Jeff Brown, was adamant to squash any trade rumours surrounding team Captain and star forward Travis Konecny.
There’s no truth. I get a kick out of this kind of stuff that all the experts out there that start things like this. I’ve never talked to any other General Manager in the league about Travis Konecny. He’s an Ottawa 67. He was drafted here to be our leader and he is our leader and will continue to be our leader as long as I’m here.

“There’s no truth,” Brown told TSN1200’s Kenny Walls. “I’ve never talked to any other General Manager in the league about Travis Konecny. He’s an Ottawa 67. Konecny had been the subject of trade rumours from the beginning of the season. Brown’s strong statement suggests that his OHL career will remain in Ottawa as the team fights towards an OHL Championship and, ultimately, the Memorial Cup.

If it was any indication today, the 67’s have a long way to go. The 67’s continued their roadtrip in Peterborough dropping a 6-3 decision to the Petes tonight. Konecny was held off the scoresheet but Dante Salituro had a pair of goals in their first loss of their 6-game roadtrip.

Studnicka, 67's Reverse St. Catharines Misfortunes

Last time Ottawa and Niagara played, Sam Studnicka took what was essentially a season-ending illegal equipment penalty off of an attacking-zone faceoff.

Tonight, his luck on draws in St. Catharines turned the other way, going 17 for 29 in the dot (as per @notsoheavyd), adding a shorthanded tally to an outstanding penalty kill showing, helping the 67's to a 6-3 win.

67's snake bitten in 3-1 loss to the Rangers

It was a battle of the first place teams at TD Place in Ottawa on Friday night but it was the first in the West Kitchener Rangers that showed why they were also first in the whole league.

Ryan MacInnis scored the game winning goal two minutes into the second period off a nice cross-crease pass from Jeremy Bracco. The Kitchener Rangers skated to a 3-1 victory over the 67’s in their first and only visit to Ottawa.
