Craievich tallies twice against former team, playoff spot clinched

He hasn't reached his offensive potential since coming to Ottawa from Guelph, but Adam Craievich picked a good time to score his fifth and sixth as a 67.

Against his former team, Craievich added both the first and last insurance markers, giving the visitors a 4-2 lead in the second and tipped one in in the third to give them a 6-2 lead that wouldn't be touched.

Ottawa was down just 65 seconds in to the OHL's last-place squad but took over the game in the middle frame.

Tied at ones, Artur Tyanulin turned Guelph's defence inside-out before scoring from just inside the hashmarks.

Nathan Todd picked the top shelf before Craievich had his first of the night.

Jeremiah Addison also scored as Leo Lazarev made the saves he had to, posting a slump-busting 18-save performance.

Playoffs Clinched

Although their move from seventh to fourth in the East is a little bit of smoke-and-mirrors, seeing as the three teams they leapfrogged all have games in hand, the win puts them at 65 points.

Ninth-place Hamilton can't pick up more than 64, and the inevitable is no longer delayed, that the 67's will be heading to the playoffs for the 19th time in 21 years.
